Book 2 looks at short narrative and informative texts and includes timetables and a calendar. Book 3 deals with short and medium-length narrative and informative texts. In each of the three books, pupils must understand the sentences or texts they read in order to perform the tasks and this ensures text comprehension. The 25 sheets in each book contain a variety of tasks which appeal to a range of pupils, including older, poor readers. Pupils are encouraged to deduce, infer, and interpret information and events. The 4 Read, Find, Write books are ideal for the crucial stage when children start to segment and blend words and learn high-frequency words. The series is progressive, with Book 1 using short phrases and a small number of first words and Book 4 using sentences and 100 common words.
